During the realization of the educational project #NeByjDytynu (#Don’tHitTheChild), a short parenting booklet was created.
It contains information based on the advice of professional psychologists, reviews of indifferent parents, modern books on child upbringing, scientific research, the experience of other countries and infographics created during the flash mob #NeByjDytynu in social network Facebook.
The booklet has the form of short tips for parents and answers to the following daily questions:
and, finally, HOW TO BECOME HAPPY PARENTS OF HAPPY CHILDREN?
Data from numerous researchers indicate that nowadays 40% of parents in Ukraine are beating their children at least occasionally.
Moreover, 61.2% of children in Ukraine are exposed (at least) to one of the types of physical or psychological violence.
Violence occurs despite the existence of the Law “On the Protection of Childhood” since 2001, and the Law “On Prevention and Combating of Domestic Violence” of 2017, which provides specific subordinate acts and mechanisms for combating violence against children.
In spite of existence of the law, during these 16 years the level of physical violence did not decrease in Ukraine, moreover, cases of psychological violence are increasing.
We are convinced that society needs to change this area because the approach to childs’ educating from the standpoint of strength brings up children to the law of power, not the power of law!
That is why the flash mob #NeByjDytynu was born in September 2016, which soon transformed into a large-scale educational project under the auspices of the NGO “Parent Union”.
After the combination of project authors and NGO “Parent Union” forces, #NeByjDytynu became a large educational initiative aiming to change the outdated habits of the Ukrainian society and provide alternative humane methods of education.
The first festival against child abuse took place in Kyiv.
During the weekend of September 16-17, 2017, a family festival “HappyDity” (Happy Children) was held at the VDNH territory within the educational project #NeByjDytynu of the NGO “Parent Union”.
The main feature of the event was the combination of entertainment and educational topics.
